This Late Medieval Oval Bronze Signet Ring is a captivating piece of history, featuring a heraldic crest that symbolizes power and nobility. Crafted from bronze, its oval face is masterfully engraved with a horse and a lion standing guard on either side of a central orb, symbolising strength and sovereignty. Above the orb, a bird—likely an eagle, emblematic of vision and high aspirations—soars, adding a dynamic element to the composition.

This intricate arrangement of symbols is deeply emblematic, reflecting the values and lineage of its original wearer. The ring is a tangible link to the past, offering a glimpse into the symbolism and artistry that defined the late medieval period. A part of our medieval jewellery collection.

A certificate of authenticity will be supplied with this ring.

CONDITION
This Late Medieval Round Bronze Signet Ring is in overall good condition, showcasing its historical significance and craftsmanship. Despite its age, the ring has preserved its form and the intricate details of its heraldic crest. However, it is important to note the presence of two small holes on the face of the ring, which, while minor, are noticeable upon close inspection. Additionally, some pitting and wear are evident across the surface, indicative of the ring's long history and use. These signs of age do not detract significantly from the ring's aesthetic or historical value but are consistent with what one might expect from an artifact of this period. The ring remains a compelling piece of late medieval jewellery, with its condition reflecting its journey through time.
